Onyx

Onyx forms in ancient caves from stalactite and stalagmite dripping. Because of its unique formation, Onyx generally comes in swirling, colorful patterns. Considered one of the more rare and beautiful materials in nature due to its sleek and modern look, and ability to be backlit because of its translucency. Onyx is typically used in decorative applications, as it is vulnerable to chemical and mechanical incidents, and may scratch, stain, and etch more easily than its marble and granite counterparts.
